How are longboards and/or skateboards made?

You're right, skateboard decks are made out thin sheets of plywood, usually 7 sheets. Sometimes companies use different material in one or two sheets to make the board lighter. Then they're glued, pressed, then cut and shaped, then graphics are applied. If it was just one large piece then the deck would be so heavy and weak.
