What, in your opinion, is the greatest cause of the breakdown of American society?

It is clear that American society is utterly broken: the homicide rate is more than twice what is was in 1960, the high school dropout rate is as high as 50% in some states (i.e. Nevada), Americans are the world's largest consumers of cocaine, the teenage pregnancy is the highest in the western world, 50% of all marriages end in divorce, over 30,000 people commit suicide every year, 1 in every 100 American adults is in prison, desperate students go to school and shoot 30 of their clmates then themselves, and more than 30% of all children are born to single mothers (this figure is 70% for African-Americans). Why has society completely broken down?
