Was this woman's sentence correct or did she deserve jail?

Personally, I think she should have been jailed. This is ault, plain and simple. This little madam could easily have taken out the victim's eye. If a man had aulted a woman with one of his shoes, there would have been a public outcry. Gender should not have played any part in how she was punished...and I AM a woman.
