What should I do. this girl is screwing my head up?

Hello so Im 22 years old in college at TSU and have never been very lucky when it comes to girls. Ive been told im a good looking guy before and im 5'10 150lbs bl hair blue eyes but a bit low on the self confidence side. anyways there is this girl in my college cl that I went to high school with. We went to a small town school and so I know her pretty well and she has always been nice to me but she has always seemed out of my league. Now she seems really cool and we have talked quite a bit in cl and I finally got the nerve up to ask her out and my response was first a "Whoa!" from her. I was a little confused to hear the word "whoa" and then she immediately said I "have really bad timing because she JUST broke up with her boyfriend" which is why she was surprised I asked. so it sounded like it just happened. immediately after I said "so I guess thats a no" giving her a way out but she hesitated and said "well its just really bad timing. It doesnt have anything to do with you asking, but I just got out of a relationship"..... please help me figure this out because im not sure if she is just to nice to say no or if she was telling the truth and its driving me crazy. I dont know why i cant get her out of my head now and today in cl she was there and she acted completely normal to me almost like i had never asked.
