How does the emergency room relate to nursing?

Being an emergency nurse requires a nurse to possess the qualities of leadership as well as team play. Since there are patients who need immediate attention, a nurse must be able to do things in a fast paced and coordinated way in order to minimize injuries and in order to avoid unnecessary fatalities. And since, the severity of cases differ in the emergency room, a nurse should also have a good grasp of the concept of ABC or airway, breathing and circulation in order to prioritize which condition should be given utmost priority. Just like in any other specialized area, a nurse must be able to possess critical thinking in order to ess and respond effectively to different clients.
