Any moms over 40 go to college for free?

My wife is a stay at home mom and wants to finish her BA. Are there any grants for her to go to school for free? We are in dire straights financially and cannot afford school. Financial aid is not good because we have to pay that back and there is no way we can do that. She only stays home because daycare is so expensive, she would be working just to pay for daycare. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Please only serious replies. We are not deadbeats. Just victims of the economy and layoffs. Thank you.
