When Jesus healed people he never prayed for them, but rather commanded the ailment to depart.?

Why then do we feel that prayer is the answer?Would jesus demonstrate something that wasn't possible for us?Didn't he instruct his disciples to go out into the world and do the same?Why have most religions glossed over this important part of Jesus's teachings?
