Lawn gres that will grow well in N. California?

i live in illinois we are anything but moderately dry this year. i don't know about the allergy part of your problem. they are pretty specific sometimes. on my land we have regular fescue growing for the most part, but i always have a patch of oats growing for the animals. from the cats to the horses the love it. i suggest doing your own tests by buying a pound to grow inside at a time, and see how he responds.
