Baby's father in jail and he said he doesn't want to talk while he's in there?

My baby's father is in jail right now. He's looking at time for three cl 2 felonies. Possesion of a stolen vehichle, converting a stolen vehichle, and burglary to vehichle.. Anyways, he said that he doesn't want to talk while he's in there because it'll make it harder on him. I was just wondering what does he mean by that. Also, he said that he does love me, and he wants to be there for his baby and everything. I don't know what to think. His bond is 65,000$ which means 10 percent it is 6,500 dollars to walk... I guess they denied his bond reduction do you think that his lawyer will be able to get his felonies down to mistiminers. Being pregnant and worrying about all this is so hard. I do want to work things out with him, but I don't know how to be there for him, and I just want some advice....
